<image:caption>Stress & Life Balance In my clinical and coaching work, I have found that the accelerating pace of change fueled by advances in technology, with all its advantages, has created significant levels of stress that impact our capacity to manage the demands of work, relationships and performance. Stress is a normal part of life that challenges us to learn and grow; a healthy process when it is within our capacity to respond effectively and return to a relaxed state. However, when we are overwhelmed, acute stress interferes with our ability to concentrate, learn and maintain our emotional equilibrium. In extreme cases, chronic stress elevates blood pressure, increasing the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Common features of acute and chronic stress are interrupted sleep, excessive worrying, agitated mood, headaches, feelings of irritability and gastrointestinal distress. To address issues of acute and chronic stress, I teach a variety relaxation skills to support clients by increasing self-awareness, improving concentration, reducing sleep problems and improving overall health and well-being.</image:caption>

<image:caption>My work with athletes and executives is holistically designed to integrate performance success and emotional well-being. Peak Performance is not limited to performance excellence; it includes tools to achieve emotional health and pave the way for success in all present and future endeavors. There are many stories about peak performers who have struggled with anxiety and depression despite their achievements in competitive athletics and the business world. My approach involves getting to know the unique personalities and aspirations of each client. In my work with athletes, coaches and executives I have found that aspects of life that may appear to be unrelated to performance, such as a history of stress and relationship challenges can result in isolation, anxiety and depression. Integrating the goals of performance excellence and emotional health is the foundation for sustaining long term success. Testimonial: "Mike is a world-class professional. He has extraordinary insight regarding the variables that optimize human and organizational performance. Mike will inspire you and provide you with the tools you need to become the very best you can be." Jim Afremow, best-selling author of The Champion’s Mind, The Champion’s Comeback and The Young Champion’s Mind. “Mike developed a vision for helping our players perform at their best by eliminating off the field issues and distractions. Focusing on the person as a whole allowed the best in each player to perform at their best.” Bobby Evans, Long time Executive for the San Francisco Giants</image:caption>
